Dedicated to Otello Pasquini, a fond researcher in Valdarno, the Restoration Lab complements the new Museum, as a fundamental tool for the maintenance and the appropriate and swift intervention on the Museum’s collection, both on fossils and archaeological artefacts.

Built according to the law, it develops in two rooms: the technical room, provided with an extractor hood, a cabinet for the conservation of bases and acids, a stereo–microscope and two high precision scales; and the didactic room, useful for the operation on bigger finds but also for lab activities both with children and adults.

The qualified staff is able to perform restoration for external costumers and on various artefacts.

The Restoration Lab was built thanks to the help of the “Cassa di risparmio” of Florence
